Michael T. Sagarese graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a Master’s Degree in 1970. Classical clarinet was his major but Michael plays tenor and also saxophone, flute, piano and what he doesn’t play he can teach. During his early musical career, Michael recorded and toured with The Hello People, a rock-mime band. The group appeared on TV such as The Smothers Brothers and The Tonight Show and shared the stage with icons like Janis Joplin, Carlos Santana, Blood Sweat and Tears and Gordon Lightfoot. For thirty years Michael taught all levels of children, from elementary through high school, as a New York State music teacher. Simultaneously he played in wedding bands, big bands, regional musical theater, and recording sessions. Michael is currently a retired teacher who continues to enjoy flexing his musical muscles.
