Steve Viada was born in New Orleans and completed a BS in Zoology and MS in Biological Oceanography at Texas A&M University. He began playing saxophone while in grade school and played in marching bands and stage bands while in junior and senior high school. He left music for a number of years to obtain his undergraduate and graduate degrees, and subsequently traveled and lived in many locations in pursuit of his career as a biologist. He gravitated back to music and has played in concert bands, wind ensembles, orchestras, big bands, and Latin and jazz ensembles in New Orleans and South Florida. He has played in groups with Wayne Bergeron, Johnny Amoroso, and Bob Davis. He plays saxophone, clarinet, and flute, and currently resides in Tequesta, Florida.
